Registrations
What is included in the full registration fee?
Conference registration includes attendance and catering at all sessions on Tuesday 09 and Wednesday 10 September, including the evening networking function.
In addition, there are optional complimentary activities that include: the welcome lunch, walking tour and cultural field trip on Monday 08 September.
Single-day registration is not available.
How do I pay for my registration?
You can pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa), or invoice. If paying by invoice, the payment terms are strictly 7 days after receipt of the invoice.
Is there a group discount available?
No discounts apply to group registrations. Please note that registrations are highly subsidised to make it affordable for the sector to attend.
Can I share my registration?
No, you cannot share your registration.
Can registrations be cancelled or transferred?
We understand that circumstances can change. At any time before Nui te Kōrero, you can email us at nuitekorero@composition.co.nz to nominate a replacement delegate at no additional charge.
A full refund, minus a $50 service fee, will be issued for cancellations received on or before 31 July 2025.
No refunds will be issued after 8 August 2025. Non-payment does not constitute cancellation.
Can I register in person at the conference?
No, registrations close on Monday 01 September 2025.
How will I know I’m registered?
You will receive a confirmation to the email address you provided with a link back to your registration details.

Before going to the event
Where is Nui te Kōrero being held?
The main conference is held at the Mercury Baypark, you can access the venue at 81 Truman Lane, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga Moana.

What time should I arrive?
- On Monday 08 arrive at 11.30am for a 12pm start at the Cargo Shed.
- On Tuesday 09, registrations open at 8am at the Mercury Baypark Arena.
- On Wednesday 10, doors open at 8am at the Mercury Baypark Arena.
Is there parking onsite at Mercury Baypark?
There is on-site carparking at Mercury Baypark Arena for up to 5,000 vehicles.
Can I get there by public transport?
No, there are no direct buses from the city.
Do I need to book my own accommodation?
Yes, all accommodation requirements are to be booked by the delegates themselves.
Do you cater for special diets?
The venue caters to allergen requirements. When you register, please specify your dietary needs in the special dietary requirements box. Additionally, the venue will make every effort to accommodate for non-allergy dietary requirements, though full catering cannot be ensured.
Can I bring my own kai in Mercury Baypark?
No food or drinks from external sources are permitted inside Mercury Baypark. Don’t worry we will have plenty of kai available.
What is the dress code for Nui te Kōrero?
Dress comfortably and wear shoes that are good for walking. Due to the size of the conference, the rooms are usually quite spread out.
During the event
Where can I see the programme?
The programme will be available through the conference app.
Is there free wifi at Nui te Kōrero?
Yes, free wifi is available within the venue.
How can I see a list of who is attending?
Networking with other Nui te Kōrero attendees is available through the Conference app which will be open to all registered attendees approximately one week prior to the start of the conference. From the app you will have access to a list of registered attendees who have opted into the networking platform. The attendee list is searchable by a number of different criteria.
Can I smoke at Mercury Baypark?
No, Mercury Baypark is a non smoking venue. Smoking within the venue is prohibited, this includes vapes and e-cigarettes.

Is there a quiet/low sensory space at the conference?
Yes, we will have a dedicated low sensory/quiet space for our whānau to use.
Are there accessible toilets?
Yes, at Mercury Baypark, the Incubator and the Cargo Shed there are accessible toilets.
Are the speaker events NZSL interpreted?
Yes, all speakers in the main conference room will be NZSL interpreted.
Does the conference venue have a hearing loop?
No.
Are the venues Service and Assistant dog friendly?
Yes.
Are the optional hosted activities accessible?
Monday 08 - Welcome lunch and Walking Tour at Cargo Shed will have an accessible tour option. In addition, Tuesday 09 Toi Ora: art village after dark at the Incubator is fully wheelchair accessible with the exception of a few artist studios within the village.
What is the best way to access the venues with a wheelchair or scooter?

Are Sunflower Lanyards recognised?
We recognise that not all disabilities are visible. If you are living with a hidden disability, you may wish to wear a Sunflower Lanyard at Nui te Kōrero. Our team and event partners are familiar with the lanyard and are here to help wherever possible.

Health and Safety
What if there is a national emergency?
If a national emergency or other significant event prevents us from gathering in person, Nui te Kōrero will be delivered as a virtual event instead. A decision to move to an online format will be made at least two weeks before the event.
All registered attendees will be notified by email. Creative New Zealand will also share updates on its website and social media channels.
If this happens, your registration will automatically transfer to the online event. Please note that refunds will not be available in this situation.
If a national emergency or other disruption occurs within two weeks of the event and it is not possible to move to a virtual format in time, Nui te Kōrero may need to be cancelled. In this case, attendees will be advised as soon as possible, and full refunds will be provided.
What is the Health and Wellbeing Policy (COVID prevention)
If you’re not feeling well, please stay at home. You will be able to dial in online to access the live stream of the conference.
Does Mercury Baypark have an air purifier?
It has a filtration system that is cleaned out every three months.
