As part of a partnership agreement with Creative New Zealand the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada offers Māori artists the opportunity to take part in select indigenous residency programmes.

- Kura Te Ua, Māori contemporary dancer, performer and choreographer, to participate in the Indigenous Dance Programme (2014)
- Nancy Brunning, Māori actor and director, to participate in the Indigenous Writing Programme (2014)
