What we do
Creative New Zealand encourages, promotes and supports the arts in New Zealand for the benefit of all New Zealanders through funding, capability building, our international programme and advocacy.
Our vision and values
Our vision is one of dynamic and resilient New Zealand arts valued in Aotearoa and internationally.
Our Council
Creative New Zealand is a Crown entity governed by the Arts Council. The council encourages, promotes and support New Zealand arts to benefit all New Zealanders. It upholds the right to artistic freedom and promotes a New Zealand identity in the arts.

Corporate documents
You’ll find three types of documents here: the planning and reporting documents we produce as a Crown entity, the strategies and policies we develop to guide our work, and the submissions we make on matters that affect the arts sector.
Requesting Information
Creative New Zealand is subject to the Official Information Act 1982. This means we will make information available on request unless there is good reason for withholding it.
