Creative New Zealand is aware of recent commentary regarding funding guidelines and funding allocation processes.
We take our statutory responsibilities seriously and our funding decisions are made in accordance with this.
The Arts Council meets their statutory obligations through ensuring distinct criteria, eligibility requirements and assessment processes are established and applied for each funding programme and funding decision.
These guidelines are publicly available on our website before funding applications open and provide the framework against which applications are assessed and funding recommendations are made.
Creative New Zealand’s mid and long term investment priorities are also outlined in our published Statement of Intent and strategic documents.
Creative New Zealand remains committed to transparent decision-making, supporting arts development nationwide, and working closely with regional partners to strengthen opportunities for artists and arts organisations throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
