Māori language week is approaching, 9 – 15 September 2019
Ko te kaupapa o te wiki he whakakaha i a tātou ki te kōrero i te reo. Mēnā e pirangi ana koe ki ētahi kupu whakamārama, ētahi rauemi hoki mō te kaupapa, e ai tō aro ki te whārangi o Te Taura Whiri i Te Reo Māori
He aha te koha a Toi Aotearoa ki te reo Māori? Mā te kōrero e ora ai te reo nā reira ka whakatenatena mātou i a mātou anō ki te ako, ki te kōrero, ki te waiata i te reo i ngā wā e tāea ana. Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu tonu.
The purpose of the week is to encourage the use of te reo Māori. If you would like further information or Māori language resources, take a look at Te Taura Whiri i Te Reo Māori website
What is Creative New Zealand’s contribution to supporting te reo Māori? We understand that the language will only survive if we speak it – therefore, as an organisation we support staff to learn the language, to speak the language including learning through waiata, and we welcome and support the use of te reo Māori where ever it is possible. Although it is small, it is a precious contribution.
