Creative New Zealand is reminding New Zealand musicians and composers about scholarships available to them this year. The closing date for applications is 11 March 2016.
New Zealand/Aotearoa Music Scholarships
$16,000 for up to two scholarships
The New Zealand/Aotearoa Music Scholarships is to enable young musicians to further their music studies in New Zealand or overseas. The 12 month scholarships are awarded for study at a recognised New Zealand or overseas tertiary institution. They can be used toward fees, travel, accommodation and/or living expenses. Jack McGill Music Scholarship
Up to $9,000 for one scholarship
The Jack McGill Music Scholarship supports young music practitioners to further their music studies overseas. Priority is given to pianists. The scholarship is typically awarded to follow an accredited course of study at a recognised overseas training institution. It can be used toward fees, travel, accommodation and/or living expenses. Edwin Carr Foundation Scholarship
$22,000 for up to two scholarships
The Edwin Carr Foundation Scholarship is open to New Zealand composers wanting to further their studies overseas. The scholarship is typically awarded to follow an accredited course of study at a recognised overseas training institution. It can be used toward fees, travel, accommodation and/or living expenses.
