Three Maori writers will come together in Devonport to celebrate Maori story-telling as a part of Matariki this month.
The event, Land Sea and Sky, will feature film-maker and author, Bradford Haami, poet Jacqueline Celia Carter and performance artist Tru Paraha.
Bradford Haami is the current writer-in-residence at the Michael King Writers’ Centre in Devonport. His latest project explores the special place whales have in Maori culture.
The free event is open to all. It has been organised by the Michael King Writers’ Centre, with the support of the North Shore City Council’s Creative Communities Scheme.
When: Sunday 20 June 2010, 2 pm
Venue: Kerr Street Artspace, Kerr St, Devonport
The event will be followed by tea and coffee at the Michael King Writers’ Centre, which is located further up Mt Victoria from the Kerr Street Artspace.
