The Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) announces it is bringing New Zealand musicians to perform in the ROSL ARTS Music & More Edinburgh Festival programme this year.
New Zealand pianists Stephen de Pledge, Somi Kim, John Paul Muir and cello quartet QUATTRO perform in 16 concerts over three weeks during the ROSL ARTS Music & More Edinburgh Festival programme at Venue 19 - Royal Over-Seas League, 100 Princes Street.
These exceptional and dynamic young performers, all ROSL ARTS prize-winning musicians, will play in a series of morning, mid-day, afternoon and late night recitals from Bach for Breakfast, Brahms at Teatime to Late Night Jazz. Now in its 16th year the ROSL ARTS event programme continues to attract sell out audiences and rave reviews.

About the musicians:
Stephen de Pledge (University of Auckland graduate) is one of the most exciting and versatile musicians of his generation with a repertoire that spans 17th to 21st centuries. Stephen maintains a diverse and wide ranging performing schedule as a soloist, chamber musician and song accompanist.
Somi Kim, graduate of the University of Auckland, is a recipient of numerous awards including: Anne Bellam Scholarship, Patricia Pratt Scholarship in Musical Performance. A sought after chamber musician and song accompanist, Somi is currently Park Lane Group Artist and the Kirckman Concert Society Artist for the 2015/16 season.
John-Paul Muir, one of the finest and most versatile pianists to emerge from New Zealand in recent years; is equally at home in classical, jazz and contemporary genres. Having received top honours in all of New Zealand’s major music competitions, he graduated from the University of Auckland. John-Paul brings his unique Jazz styling to Edinburgh.
QUATTRO comprising cellists Alexander Arai-Swale, Catherine Kwak, Sam Lucas, Jacky Siu, all Sir Edmund Hilary Scholars at the University of Waikato make their debut performance at the festival. The dynamic young New Zealand ensemble perform their own transcription for four cellos of Shostakovich’s searing 8th quartet plus Boulez luminous Notations performed by brilliant pianist Alexader Soares
