The first of new signage to adorn the Hannah Playhouse is going on display this week, marking the beginning of an exciting new phase for the iconic Wellington building.
A new brand and a new image are taking shape for the performance venue on the corner of Courtney Place.
The Wellington Museums Trust has taken over the lease of the Hannah Playhouse and will welcome in the NZ Festival from 22 February with their range of international shows, the UK featuring heavily, beginning with the Broadway and London smash hit Bullet Catch.
In April the first of Capital E National Theatre for Children’s 2014 offerings premieres with their production of Mr McGee & the Biting Flea.
Also launched this week is a new website for the Hannah Playhouse, one that will espouse the focus of the venue encouraging inclusive and engaging arts for all ages.
“The Hannah Playhouse is being re-launched as a home for many companies,” explains Stephen Blackburn, Capital E’s Creative Producer. “Thanks to the funding from Creative New Zealand we can offer the Hannah Playhouse at a subsidised rate for other professional performing arts organisations and welcome all enquiries.”
“We want it to be the home of performance experiences for all.”
