Have your say in Creative New Zealand’s review of theatre
Creative New Zealand is inviting you to participate in our review of how we can best support and develop New Zealand theatre.
Our review will discuss Creative New Zealand’s responsibility for theatre, the key roles we fund through our multi-year investment programme Toi Tōtara Haemata (Arts Leadership) and how we prioritise our other funding programmes, initiatives and special opportunities.
Further to our email in April we are now seeking your views on a number of questions that we are canvassing in a discussion paper.
What has happened so far?
We have collated information about our recent support for theatre.
We also convened a focus group of theatre artists, practitioners and organisations in New Zealand theatre. The focus group was asked for their assessment of how Creative New Zealand can best support New Zealand theatre over the next five years.
How do you contribute to the review?
We are now circulating a discussion paper. In the paper we ask a number of questions. Your answers to these questions, and any other views you have, will contribute to the success of this review.
You can provide your views by:
- completing an online questionnaire
- sending us an email
- sending us your written comments by mail
More details on how to respond are contained in the discussion paper.
What is the timeframe?
Our deadline for receiving your response is 5pm on Friday 10 July 2015.
Your responses will be collated and reported to the Arts Council. In December 2015 we expect to publish a final report incorporating any recommendations agreed by the Arts Council.
If you would like more information please contact theatre@creativenz.govt.nz.
Please send this communication to anyone you think may be interested in these reviews.
