Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir has entered into a sponsorship partnership with Opus International Consultants Ltd, that will begin on 1 January 2011. Voices is New Zealands leading Chamber Choir of international standing, the partner choir of the similarly world renowned New Zealand Youth Choir.
The fit with Opus is exceptionally good. Both organisations are leaders in their fields, both pay attention to the development of its people, and both excel in competitive international markets.
Opus Chief Executive and Managing Director, Dr David Prentice, is pleased that Opus is the first principal sponsor of Voices. "Opus is very pleased to enter into this relationship with Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir. We both share very similar values, centred on developing our people to their full potential and delivering a professional performance. We are delighted to be able to contribute to the success of one of New Zealands leading choirs in this way."
Dr Alan Walmsley, Chair of Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand Trust which governs Voices, is similarly pleased to see an organisation of unparalleled standing step up and embrace their social responsibility. "This partnership is all about people. With Opus behind us, we have more opportunities for our singers and our audiences both in New Zealand and abroad. This strikes the right chord with Opus and their values, a company who credit their people with their award-winning success and innovation. We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership."
The partnership was announced at a concert and reception held at Government House in Auckland yesterday, hosted by The Governor General The Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand. Voices has been chosen to represent New Zealand at the 9th World Choral Symposium in Argentina next year, and this congratulatory reception provided an ideal opportunity for guests to be entertained by this talented ensemble, led by Artistic Director Dr Karen Grylls.
