63 grants totalling $2,721,121 have been offered to support projects by New Zealand artists and practitioners in this funding round, across the three funding pools (General, Māori and Pacific). We received 239 eligible applications, with a total of $10,521,452 requested.
Arts Grants offer short-term project funding between $5,000 to $75,000 for New Zealand artists, arts practitioners, arts organisations, groups and collectives. This funding enables more sustainable careers, encourages innovation and the development of arts practice, and provides opportunities for diverse communities to access the arts.
Who got funded this round
Arts Grants round 2 attracted considerable interest, with many high-calibre applications received. The budget available for this round was $2.7m with a total amount of $10.6m requested across the three funding pools.

We received 239 eligible applications, with a total of $10,521,452 requested.
This was broken down as follows:
- General Arts: 45 projects totalling $1,885,013 were supported. $8,114,287 was requested by 196 applicants.
- Māori Arts: 10 projects totalling $427,160 were supported. $1,187,000 was requested by 20 applicants.
- Pacific Arts: 8 projects totalling $408,948 were supported. $1,220,165 was requested by 23 applicants.
Also:
- 27 of the funded projects supported the development of arts practice and the creation of new work.
- 20 supported projects enabling New Zealanders to experience high-quality arts.
- 9 supported projects enabling New Zealanders to participate in the arts.
- 4 supported New Zealand arts to gain international success.
