Our thoughts are with Ukraine

What’s happening in Ukraine is disturbing and upsetting on many levels. The Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa sends our thoughts and aroha (love) to the people and residents of Ukraine, as well as those with loved ones, friends and whānau (family) in Ukraine during this incredibly difficult and traumatic time.

We acknowledge our colleagues at the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, a fellow member of the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA). We stand in fellowship with our peers in Ukraine, as are many of our fellow IFACCA members from around the world.

We also acknowledge Ukrainian arts practitioners who have chosen to make Aotearoa New Zealand their home and for whom the growing humanitarian crisis as a result of the invasion must be particularly horrific.

We acknowledge, too, the many creative practitioners here in New Zealand and around the world who are also standing in solidarity with Ukraine.

Pukuaroha. Our thoughts are with you.
