Ia manuia lou malaga Pua Magasiva

Creative New Zealand expresses our deepest condolences to the aiga (family) and loved ones of actor Pua Magasiva who passed away in Wellington last weekend.

Pua was one of the pioneering Pacific actors, with a career spanning over 20 years in film, television, radio and stage. Along with his brothers Robbie and Miki, the Magasiva brothers helped pave the way for the next generation of Pacific actors.

He is most well-known for portraying nurse Vinnie Kruse on Shortland Street, as well as leading roles in Power Rangers Ninja Storm and Sione’s Wedding. He has also worked on Flava as a radio host and starred in numerous stage shows, including Two Days in Dream and Where We Once Belonged where he starred with his older brother Robbie.

He is survived by his daughter from his first marriage and his wife Lizz Sadler.
