Review of the Toi Totara Haemata and Toi Uru Kahikatea programmes

Creative New Zealand is seeking views about the future direction of its Toi Tōtara Haemata (Arts Leadership) and Toi Uru Kahikatea (Arts Development) programmes.

In April, Creative New Zealand published its Investment Strategy for the next five years. This review is part of implementing that strategy and ensuring all programmes, including the Tōtara and Kahikatea programmes, are aligned to the strategy.

Creative New Zealand is inviting organisations supported by the Tōtara and Kahikatea programmes, other arts funders, individual artists and practitioners, and those with an interest in the New Zealand arts infrastructure, to provide comment and feedback.

To help Creative New Zealand has published a brief Discussion Paper that provides background on the programmes and their purpose while also posing questions about:

  • the current set of Tōtara programme key roles
  • the way our funding formulae operate
  • the purposes and composition of the Kahikatea programme.

An online survey has also been prepared to assist with providing feedback. A link to the survey is at the end of the Discussion Paper.

The deadline for survey responses is 5pm, Friday 29 June, 2018.

Please share this communication with anyone that may have an interest in Creative New Zealand’s Tōtara and Kahikatea programmes and the New Zealand arts infrastructure.
