Opportunity for New Zealand artists and arts practitioners in the worlds greatest arts festival city

New Zealand artists and arts practitioners will be able to meet and develop working relationships with their international colleagues in the world’s leading festival city, Edinburgh, this August.

Creative New Zealand and the British Council are calling for expressions of interest from New Zealand practitioners and/or artists to join Edinburgh Festivals’ international delegate programme, MOMENTUM NZ 2014, from 13-19 August 2014.

The programme aims to build relationships between New Zealand, Scottish, United Kingdom and international artists, producers, curators and cultural partners to increase touring opportunities, artistic exchange and professional development.

Delegates will meet key arts organisations, including the directors of Edinburgh’s 12 major festivals. These include the world’s leading arts festival, Edinburgh International Festival; the world’s largest festival, the Edinburgh Fringe and the renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

MOMENTUM NZ is a partnership between the British Council and Creative New Zealand, established in 2013, to support greater artistic collaboration and exchange. This resulted in a delegation of arts professionals attending the 2013 Edinburgh Festivals, to develop their professional networks. It is part of a wider global MOMENTUM programme which is supported by Festivals Edinburgh, Creative Scotland and British Council Scotland.

This partnership also contributed to more than 200 New Zealand artists attending the Edinburgh festivals in August this year for the NZ at Edinburgh 2014 season.

This year, seven delegates will be supported with up to $3200 towards travel costs. Six night’s accommodation will also be provided. These delegates will be selected through an open call process.

The closing date for Expressions of Interest in MOMENTUM NZ is: 23 May 2014, at 5pm
