Moody, daughter of Yvette Bromley, one of the founding members of the Court Theatre, was a familiar face in Christchurch theatre circles and starred in several productions, including Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, Edward Albee Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Bruce Mason’s Blood of the Lamb.
She made television appearances in Beauty and the Beast, Antiques for Love or Money and The Fire-Raiser, and hosted a radio talkback show in the late 1980s.
Moody was also an accomplished director and the driving force behind performances of Romeo and Juliet and last years production of the Roger Hall comedy Social Climbers.
Moody joined the Court Theatre as a full-time actress in January 1976, five years after it began, and last acted on its stage in 2003. She directed about 12 plays for the Court between 1984 and 2002.
She died in Christchurch surrounded by family last night.
