Celebrate and advocate for the arts through the Honours system
The Honours system is a chance to acknowledge the success of the wide range of people who make the arts thrive in this country. We encourage you you to take some time to complete a nomination form and send it to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Consider the people who have made a real difference in the arts. This can cover a broad spectrum:
- an artist
- an arts administrator/producer
- an arts philanthropist
- arts and business people, including people in governance positions
- people who make the arts happen in the community.

There is no closing date for nominations and Honours are announced twice a year, at Queen’s Birthday and in the New Year. Nomination forms are accepted throughout the year, but the processing and consideration of nominations is likely to take at least six months prior to the announcement of an honours list at Queen's Birthday or New Year. Nominations have now closed for the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2017.
