Creative New Zealand seeks public submissions on draft Strategic Plan

Creative New Zealand is seeking public submissions on its draft Strategic Plan, which sets out the agency’s priorities for 2013-2016.

Every three years Creative New Zealand publishes a draft strategic plan to outline how its funding, capability-building and advocacy work will support artists, arts practitioners and arts organisations in the coming years.

In addition to its ongoing programmes to support New Zealand artists to create and distribute work, and enable New Zealanders to experience and participate in the arts, the following priorities have been identified in the plan:

  • Streamlining processes and improving decision-making and reporting
  • Responding to Auckland’s fast growing and culturally diverse population
  • Advocating for the place of the arts in the rebuild of Christchurch
  • Successfully transitioning to a new governance structure

The draft Strategic Plan was developed after consultation with arts sector focus groups and other stakeholders in 2012. Creative New Zealand is now seeking public submissions on the draft Plan by 26 August 2013.

The public can download the plan from www.creativenz.govt.nz/stratplan and provide feedback by completing the online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Draft_Strategic_Plan.

Alternatively people can receive a hard copy of the plan and survey by phoning 04 473 0880 or emailing stratplan@creativenz.govt.nz.

Once the consultation is complete a summary report with the key findings and themes from the public submissions will be published.
