Call for Proposals from artists curators to exhibit at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015

Creative New Zealand is calling for proposals from artist(s)/curator teams for the exhibition to be New Zealand’s official presentation at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015.

The call for proposals is a two-stage process with preliminary Expressions of Interest sought by Monday 12 August 2013. Eligible applicants will then be contacted by Creative New Zealand and asked to submit proposals by Monday 16 September 2013.

Proposals will be assessed by a selection panel chaired by a member of the Arts Council and including 2015 Commissioner Heather Galbraith, a number of visual arts sector experts and representatives from the Venice Biennale patrons’ group.

The proposed artist(s) and curator will need to have significant exhibition experience in New Zealand and some experience internationally, and established profiles within the New Zealand contemporary arts sector.

For more information about the eligibility criteria and how to apply please see the Call for Proposals.
