The Arts Council today paid tribute to seminal New Zealand painter Ralph Hotere, who died in Dunedin on Sunday, aged 81.

"With a career spanning five decades, Ralph Hotere, ONZ, was one of the country’s most significant contemporary artists and an influential figure in our cultural history,’’ said Arts Council Chair Alastair Carruthers.
