Applications are being called for companies and artists to attend the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) in Brisbane from 22 – 26 February 2016.
Applications can be made online now. The closing date is 1 July 2015 AEST.
Artists and companies can apply to have tour-ready works and works-in-development presented either in full length, as excerpts or as pitches.
The following genres are supported through the APAM programme:
- Dance
- Interdisciplinary / Hybrid Arts
- Large Scale / Site Specific and/or Outdoor
- Music
- Music Theatre / Opera / Cabaret
- Physical Theatre / Circus / Puppetry
- Theatre
Applicants will be notified by APAM whether they are successful or not by 4 September 2015.
Creative New Zealand will support up to three successful showcases. This support will be a contribution (maximum NZD $20,000 each) towards international flights, freight and accommodation.
Companies and artists selected to pitch at APAM 2016 will need to cover their own expenses.
Attending APAM as a delegate
Early bird delegate registrations open on 21 October 2015 (early bird rates available until 4 December 2015).
Delegate registrations are expected to sell out, so applicants are encouraged to register early on the APAM website.

What is APAM?
APAM is the premier industry event for contemporary performing arts in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region that brings the sector together to exchange ideas, experience new Australian and New Zealand work, engage in critical dialogue, build skills and partnerships, find new collaborators and investors, explore touring opportunities, and network with national and international peers.
In 2016, APAM will be presented by the Australia Council for the Arts in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse, which will be the hub for all APAM activities and performances. Additional events will be held in local partner venues including the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and the Queensland University of Technology Gardens Theatre.
APAM 2016 will coincide with the annual WTF, Brisbane Powerhouse’s contemporary performance event, and The 8th Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT8) exhibition at the Queensland Gallery of Art | Gallery of Modern Art.
