Free Performances for the Children of Christchurch

Capital E National Theatre for Children is pleased to be able to offer the schools of Christchurch free performances of their latest production.

The company were due to perform End Game at the Ngaio Marsh Theatre next Thursday, as part of their current national tour, but with the venue being out of action they thought this may no longer be possible.

“We made the decision yesterday, given our twelve year history of touring to Christchurch that the show must go on. It is more important than ever that children have a chance to escape from the trauma of the past week” the company’s Creative Producer, Stephen Blackburn said, “we didn’t want to disappoint the schools already booked to see the production, and now we have been able to secure James Hay Theatre as the new venue this will also enable more schools to take up the offer of free tickets and allow their students and teachers some welcome relief and sheer escapism through the magic of theatre.”

The play aimed at young people aged 8 -14, is a modern day fantasy story that see’s Alex and his Mum transported into the online world of Alex’s favourite computer game, described by the Dominion Post as “a fine 21st century fantasy… aimed with pinpoint accuracy at its target audience”.
