Talented creative and performing arts students are invited to apply for a Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship at the University of Waikato.
The university launched the Hillary Scholarship Programme in 2005 to assist students who are talented artistic performers or sports people while they undertake tertiary study. There are currently 130 Hillary Scholars, of which 42 are in creative and performing arts disciplines. Disciplines include theatre, music, dance, screen and media, Māori creative and performing arts, and computer graphic design.
Successful recipients receive full fees Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship to study at the University of Waikato, personalised academic support, leading tutors in their area of sports/arts, funding for specialised skills development and leadership training.
Applications for the Hillary Scholarship close on 31 October.
