Strange Resting Places in Wellington for two nights only

Taki Rua Productions will partner with Arts on Tour NZ (AOTNZ) to present a national tour of the widely acclaimed Strange Resting Places. Strange Resting Places was launched in 2007 at the Auckland International Arts Festival and has played to audiences throughout New Zealand and abroad including seasons in Pagopago (Americal Samoa), Queensland (Australia), Singapore and London.

Taki Rua Productions has recently completed a Marae Tour of Strange Resting Places in Gisborne, Maniapoto, Waikato and Auckland. Keryn Bristow, Marketing & Sponsorship Manager of Taki Rua says “The Marae Tour allowed us to access an entirely new audience. By teaming up with AOTNZ and hitting the road again we can build on the success of the Marae tour and continue sharing our stories with the people of rural Aotearoa.”

The five week season will be launched from Wellington; the birthplace and home town of Taki Rua Productions. Bristow says “Launching this upcoming season from Wellington enables us to share this timeless story with our Wellington based supporters and we can give our boys the send off they deserve.”

Arts on Tour New Zealand (AOTNZ) organises tours of outstanding New Zealand performers to rural and smaller centres in New Zealand. The trust receives funding from Creative New Zealand and liaises with local arts councils, repertory theatres and community groups to bring the best of musical and other talent to country districts.
