Creative New Zealand is calling for applications for a residency at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York, USA in 2014.
The four-month residency allows a New Zealand visual artist to work on an approved project and undertake professional development opportunities in New York from 1 March to 30 June 2014.
The selected visual artist will receive a NZD$32,000 stipend, which includes a contribution towards living costs, and a studio at the ISCP
The deadline for applications is 5pm Friday 26 July 2013. Applications must be received by our Wellington Office, in hard copy, by 5pm to be eligible.
The Creative New Zealand Visual Arts Residency at the ISCP in New York was established in 2000 to provide a unique opportunity for a New Zealand visual artist. Transporting the artist to a different environment is expected to have many other benefits, including exposure to new cultures and new ideas, and an increased awareness in New York of New Zealand visual arts.
The ISCP is a not-for-profit, residency-based contemporary art centre for artists and curators from around the world, having hosted over 1,700 artists and curators from more than 58 countries. The ISCP’s purpose is to establish an international community of exemplary visual artists and curators to make their work visible in the New York art community.
The New York residency is offered every second year. Previous recipients are: Kate Newby (2012), Judy Millar (2010), Sriwhana Spong (2008), Gavin Hipkins (2006), Christopher Braddock (2004), Lisa Crowley (2002) and Ronnie van Hout (2000).
