The Menton Report Mandy Hager

A new novel: Chasing Héloise

Every year, the Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellow delivers a lecture to mark their time in France.

In 2014, writer Mandy Hager followed a five-year obsession and went in search of a twelfth-century French nun. Hager spent her time in Menton chasing the footsteps of Héloise d'Argenteuil, trying to get close enough to her subject to introduce her to a new generation of readers. This lecture will discuss Hager’s process and the challenges undertaken to bring this extraordinary medieval woman to life.

The talk will be chaired by Richard Cathie.

Presented by the Winn-Manson Menton Trust in partnership with City Gallery Wellington.
