This $10,000 annual non-acquisitive award is open to Australian or New Zealand artists of all ages and disciplines, who are not enrolled as students and whose work is not held in the collection of a state, territory or national public art gallery. Entries close on 4 June 2012 at 5pm.
The winner will be announced at the opening of the exhibition on August 14. The finalists' exhibition is curated by Venita Poblocki. The prize will be judged by Wayne Tunnicliffe, Head Curator of Australian Art at the Art Gallery of NSW and artists Bronwyn Bancroft and Kath Fries. The finalists’ exhibition will be held at Gaffa Galleries, Sydney, from 11 August to 1 September. The competition is administered by Viscopy.
