Creative New Zealands reviews of craft object and visual arts

Creative New Zealand is reviewing how its resources can best support and develop craft/object and visual arts in New Zealand.

We have collated information about our recent support for the craft/object and visual arts and commissioned research on related activities in a selection of museums, galleries and tertiary institutions.

Initial scoping of the issues and the implications for Creative New Zealand has been undertaken by staff and discussed by two focus groups – one each for craft/object art and visual arts.

How do you contribute to the reviews?

The preliminary work above has informed proposals outlined in two draft reports; one each for craft and object art and visual arts.

Both reports raise a number of questions. Your answers to these questions and any other views you have will contribute to the success of these reviews.

You can provide your views by:

  • completing an online questionnaire

  • sending us an email

  • sending us your written comments by mail

Details on how to respond are contained in the draft reports.

What is the timeframe?

The deadline for replies is 5pm on Wednesday 25 June 2014.

Your responses will be collated and will inform our recommendations to the Arts Council.

We expect to publish our final reports in August and approved recommendations will be implemented from January 2015.
