Māori Arts Internship (MAI) Programme

Delivered by Toi Māori Aoteroa, on behalf of Creative New Zealand, the programme supports emerging Māori arts practitioners to embark on a career in the arts as managers, professionals and producers. Internships are available for people who are keen to build experience in an arts area of their choice. Host organisations can apply to the programme to provide internship opportunities.

Tautai Oceania Internships Programme

Delivered by Tautai Contemporary Pacific Arts Trust, on behalf of Creative New Zealand, this programme supports Pasifika practitioners to embark on a career in the arts as managers and administrators. Tautai works with the interns to identify a suitable host organisation and prepare for their internship, providing support throughout the 20-week placement.

National Publishing Internships

Delivered by Publishers Association of New Zealand, on behalf of Creative New Zealand, the programme offers a Whitireia graduate the opportunity to work in a publishing company for six months. The internship gives talented newcomers additional training after graduation to develop their confidence and experience, and it allows publishers to benefit from a new employee in their organisation. The programme has produced some impressive results in past years with many publishers choosing to offer the interns full-time positions at the end of the programme and a number of interns now holding senior positions in publishing companies.
