The Pacific Arts Committee seeks nominations for the Arts Pasifika Awards 2008. The awards acknowledge the late Iosefa Enari's outstanding contribution to the arts, support both emerging and senior artists across all artforms, and recognise the importance of innovation and excellence in Pacific arts See the list below for more details.

Nomination forms for the awards are available on request from a programme administrator in your area.

Closing date:  5pm, Friday 27 June 2008

Arts Pasifika Awards

Senior Pacific Artist's Award $7000

This award recognises the contribution and role of a senior Pacific Islands artist in maintaining or developing his or her artform in New Zealand.

Iosefa Enari Memorial Award $3000

This is a study or travel award supporting the development of Pacific Islands opera singers.

Pacific Innovation and Excellence Award $5000

This award recognises an established Pacific Islands artist or group reflecting innovation and excellence in their chosen artform.

Emerging Pacific Artist's Award $3000

This award recognises an emerging Pacific Islands artist or group showing promise in their chosen artform.

Pacific Heritage Arts Award $5000

This award recognises a Pacific Islands artist or group who has made a significant contribution to the maintenance, revival and promotion of a Pacific heritage artform in New Zealand.

Salamander Gallery Award for Emerging Pacific Visual Artists $3000

This award recognises an emerging Pacific Islands artist showing promise in the field of visual arts.
