Recurrently funded organisations (RFOs)

Recurrent funding enables arts organisations to plan and deliver an agreed programme of activities in the knowledge that funding from Creative New Zealand is secure for the period of the contract.

Arts organisations cannot apply for recurrent funding unless they have been invited to do so by the Arts Board or Te Waka Toi. To be considered, organisations need to have a close alignment with Creative New Zealand's strategic priorities, a proven track record of Creative New Zealand project funding (usually at least three years), and a strong governance and management structure. They must also produce a set of audited annual accounts and be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder support.

Organisations receiving recurrent funding are not eligible to apply for project funding or Creative Community Scheme funding during this period.

Recurrently funded organisations may also be interested in the programmes and resources offered by Creative New Zealand’s Audience and Market Development Programme and our Arts Organisations’ Development Programme.
