Creative New Zealand (CNZ) is now calling for proposals for the Regional Presenter and Audience Development Fund.
This fund is to support regional touring of quality art works within New Zealand and build audiences for quality arts in identified regional centres.
The fund will be distributed in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and will provide up to $150,000 per annum for a group of regional arts presenters to be used as follows:
- up to $100,000 per annum for venues that are members of a selected Group to purchase and present quality New Zealand art works in their venues; plus
- up to $50,000 per annum for two years towards the development and implementation of an audience and market development plan
Up to three groups of regional arts presenters may be supported and the fund is able to contribute towards some touring expense areas. The funding may only be used to purchase and present works that have been created by New Zealand artists and practitioners.

Audience and Market Development: In conjunction with the Fund CNZ is looking to support sustainable plans which aim to deepen the engagement of audiences, increase the frequency of current audiences/arts participation and encourage new participants.
Audience and Market Development is about increasing the range of audiences not just increasing the numbers of attendees. ‘Audience’ includes attendees, visitors, viewers, participants, learners and people who purchase works of art.
